All graduate students have access to the facilities in the College:

The College of Architecture and the g raduate rogram are housed in Giles Hall. This facility includes design studios, classrooms, seminar rooms, and faculty offices as well as specialized spaces such as an auditorium and jury room with digital projection systems. The College of Architectu re, Art, and Design is among the only two colleges in the University to have a library of its own. Other digital facilities include input and output devices , a printer/plotter pool, and 10/100 megabyte and Wireless access ports throughout the building for local-area network and Internet access.

Students work in a secure Graduate Studio that includes individual workspaces and network access. The Graduate Studio is a high technology teaching arena which includes multiple media systems for the use of the students as presentation/teaching/learning aids. The College of Architecture has two Level 2 Classrooms with high quality projection systems and multiple input/output systems also available for use by graduate students.

Entering students are expected to own or purchase a computer system capable of running the software that will serve as their primary tools. Borrowers need to be aware that such programs as Stafford Loans will split payments into beginning fall and beginning spring installments.

Selected students may have additional access to facilities in the DRIL:

The Design Research & Informatics Lab (DRIL) is a multi-platform laboratory for inter-disciplinary research work conducted by individual graduate faculty . DRIL contains Windows 2000 and XP workstations and servers running a variety of modeling, rendering, animation, CAD and multi-media software. Packages include CATIA, SolidWorks, MasterCAM, SmartTEAM, 3 d Studio Max, Revit, ArchiCAD, Rhinoceros, Form-Z, Pr emiere, After Effects, Director, Maya, among others. Graduate students in the Design + Technology emphasis area may be allowed access for project work and research in the DRIL, if their projects demonstrate congruence with research agendas in the DRIL.

High end input/output equipment in the DRIL include printers, plotters, CNC Routers, 3d printers, video output devices, 3D probe digitizing, scanners, multi level 3d scanners, photogrammetry, digital photography, and video recording systems. Peripheral equipment and capabilities include RAID arrays and high end servers.

Students may also apply to use the facilities of the other Research Centers in the College. See: Research Centers .
